630 MW of installed photovoltaic capacity in Tunisia
In August 2026, Tunisia crossed a symbolic milestone by surpassing 630 MW of installed photovoltaic capacity nationwide, across all segments (residential, industrial and power plants). This acceleration is driven by more frequent project tenders, falling equipment costs, and easier financing schemes like PROSOL ELEC Économique. STEG paves the way for battery storage
On July 21-22, 2026, STEG announced a long-awaited decision for the sector: authorizing battery storage for grid-connected residential photovoltaic installations. Until now, Tunisian regulations made it difficult to combine battery storage with grid connection, limiting households autonomy during power cuts. This change paves the way for hybrid installations combining self-consumption, surplus resale, and backup power during outages. TECHNOPRO is closely following the publication of STEG final technical standard for hybrid inverters and compatible batteries, so we can quickly offer you compliant solutions.

PROSOL ELEC Économique: 1,500 TND + 3%/10-year credit
Officially launched on September 26, 2024, the PROSOL ELEC Économique program was strengthened by the ANME in 2025 to make it even more accessible: a down payment of just 1,500 TND and a preferential 3% credit over 10 years now allow more Tunisian households to go solar. According to ANME estimates, nearly 700,000 households could be eligible for this scheme. Since its launch, the program has already equipped tens of thousands of families across the country.
